SO, ANIME EXPO…

I’ve been home for a while but I only just now had the time to make an official write-up post about the whole thing! (I’m having a REALLY busy week, and my head is still going through an anime-induced hangover!) AX weekend seemed to come out of nowhere when I had spent the week prior rushing to get my merchandise ready for my table! I was lucky enough to meet a couple friends (mira, karen, and angie) a day early and had a great stroll around LA picking up our badges and hanging out at IHOP sharing sketchbooks and junk! Afterwards I met up with my hotel roomies katie and flash to prep our prints and buttons for the next day. The first day was pretty exciting, setting up our table displays for the first time and getting together with a HUGE circle of friends! I was really excited to be sitting right behind ellen and emily with my tablemates mira and ryann! There were sketch trades everywhere…

The sales I made through out the days sorta varied, and admittedly I was very ill-prepared… but it was nice to see so many new faces interested in my art and i ended up making more money on commissions than anything else! (which is still cool) Despite not selling enough to make even the entire event was a really great learning experience and it gave me a better idea of how to prepare for next time. (which I plan on doing again for sure!) I’ll be opening up an online shop soon for those of you who were unable to attend AX this year, so don’t fret!

I was so excited to meet everybody I had mentioned above as well as Pappy, Suppi, Ziggy, spats, leslie, william, zambi, geneva, charlotte and so many others! (I’m sorry if I missed anybody! How do I even know so many people???) I hope I can see you all again next year!!

(also I noticed i have a few new followers from AX! If any of you commissioned something from me it would be really super of you to scan and post it on your blog, please and thank you!)
